ND Secretary of State’s Office reminds voters to return absentee ballots before election day deadline

BISMARCK, N.D. — The North Dakota Secretary of State’s Office is reminding voters planning to use absentee ballots to vote in the June primary to send them in as soon as possible.
The office says they sent out 35,710 absentee ballots to people requesting to vote absentee. Of that number, just under 50%, or 17,706 ballots have been turned in as of Friday morning.
Absentee ballots can be sent using the postal service. They can also be dropped into a secure county drop box, or by hand delivering it to the county auditor. Absentee ballots cannot be handed in at polling locations.
After sending in their ballot, absentee voters can track their ballot using at vote.nd.gov/absenteetracker.
The secretary’s office says that absentee ballots have to be handed in by the close of polls on Election Day in order to be counted.
