Skateboarders celebrate nationwide holiday across metro

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Skateboarding fans from across the metro area came to see how far a skateboarder could jump across barrels.
North Dakota Skateboarding Association kicked off Go Skateboarding Day with its annual Keg Jump.
The day is a part of the nationwide holiday for skateboarders created by the International Association of Skateboard Companies.
To kick off the celebrations in the area, a scavenger hunt was held to find tech decks.
Fans were then invited to see how far a skateboarder could jump across barrels to win a cash prize.
“I think I could possibly get these five right here. It’s just about getting that right pop onto it. And soon as I just like soaring over it, I know for a fact I’m going to land it. I don’t know, a few more tries here and there, and hopefully I just roll away from it,” said Skylar Komanetz.
Brewhalla also hosted a Father’s Day Pop-Up event all day for dads and dad-like figures.
