FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Shakespeare is coming across North Dakota this summer.

The North Dakota Shakespeare Festival is bringing its production of Macbeth on the road, with free park performances scheduled in Fargo, Grand Forks, and surrounding communities.

The Tragedy follows a Scottish nobleman’s rise to power and destructive effects of political ambition.

Before each performance, cast members take part in what’s known as a fight call, a safety rehearsal where actors run through every choreographed fight scene to make sure the performance stays safe.

“We’ve even had people walk through this park who weren’t even coming to see the play, but they stuck around once they saw something was happening. Seeing the kids here as well, it’s just been a great turnout overall, and this is our first time in Fargo for the company, so we’re just really proud of what we’ve done here,” actor Anthony Quinn Berry said of the company’s first Fargo performance.

The North Dakota Shakespeare Festival’s production of Macbeth continues its tour with another performance in Fargo tomorrow, before heading to West Fargo on Friday and Saturday.
