Investigation of Officer Involved Shooting

The Hennepin County sheriff’s office is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Eden Prairie.

An Eden Prairie police officer began pursuing a fleeing motorcyclist around 3:00am Saturday.

Dispatch audio shows that the officer reported an accidental discharge of a weapon after the chase ended.

The motorcyclist was wounded in his arm.

He was taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The sheriff’s office has not said what led to the chase.

The sheriff’s office took over the investigation at the request of the Eden Prairie Police Department.
