Cavalier Boy Gets Camping Wish Granted

Make–A–Wish does it again by granting a Cavalier boy’s dream to go camping.

It’s a wish come true for four–year–old Ryker Kemnitz.

He’s been battling a genetic condition and immune deficiency known as Phelan–McDermid Syndrome.

“He has no immune system so he gets sick very easily. He overheats quite a bit. So having this is something that would be great to let him cool off in the summer if we want to go camping with family and stuff,” says Ryker’s mom, Nicolle Kemnitz.

This camper is filled with camping goodies, and by the look of Ryker’s face, it was the perfect gift.

“There’s so many variables with him on limitations on what we can and can’t do and this is one thing we can do all together,” says Ryker’s dad, Nathan Kemnitz.

It’s taken nearly eight months to make this wish happen.

But the years of memories that will come with this camper, are timeless.

“It’s a lifetime gift or wish that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives,” says Make-A-Wish wish granter Norma Hoberg.

The family can’t wait to hit the road and camp at Icelandic State Park near their house.

Gone are the days they can only go camping once during the summer.

“We finally can enjoy spending time outside as a family and get to do more family things together,” says Nicolle.

The wish was brought together by Make–A–Wish wish granters and Outlet Recreation.
