Helping Those who Serve: West Fargo Named “ND Cares” Community
West Fargo joins a growing list of North Dakota communities committing to help care for veterans.
First Lady Betsy Dalrymple and North Dakota National Guard Adjutant General Alan Dohrmann named West Fargo the 12th ND Cares Community.
ND Cares is a program dedicated to strengthening the support network for those who have served their country.
The city has pledged to improve access to behavioral health care for veterans.
Betsy Dalrymple says, “Suicide and homelessness are big issues, and those are just part of behavioral health. But I think we need to show to those in our community who have served us that we want to help them and serve them and give them access to services as close to where they live as we possibly can.”
As part of being named an ND Cares city, West Fargo will also organize an event honoring veterans later this year.
