LIVE: Sauna Week Heats Up In Moorhead

Beat The Cold Weather With Folkways And Their Log Sauna

We’ve got plenty of rain, snow and cold temperatures coming our way this week, but there’s a way you can heat things up.

It’s Sauna Week. Folkways has their log sauna parked outside of Nature of the North in Moorhead all week, inviting people to come together and work up a sweat.
They brought the sauna back because it proved to be popular at a Finnish sauna festival in February.
Temperatures inside the sauna reach up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Organizer say there are plenty of advantages for people who can take the heat.

LesleyAnne Buegel with Folkways explains, “I mean, we live in a frozen tundra, so I think part of it is being able to actually feel the heat all throughout your body and not just indoors where you feel like semi-warm. But I think a big part of it is also being able to sweat out the toxins, and a lot of people really enjoy meeting new people. They end up in a sauna with a stranger. It sounds intimidating but they actually end up having a lot of fun.”

There are plenty of spots available for Sauna week. Click here for more information.
