Moorhead police are stressing to MSUM students and people near the area not to panic and that the campus is safe.
An alleged sexual assault that occurred over the weekend was between a couple who know each other and is still under investigation.
The assault happened Saturday and was reported to University Public Safety on Sunday.
Police say it appears to be a date-rape situation and the public is not in danger.
Lt. Tory Jacobson, Moorhead Police: “The subject in this case, he is not in custody. At this time investigators will continue to work on this case and compile the reports and send it to the county attorney’s office”
Coming up on KVRR News at 9 we’ll have what MSUM’s Public Safety is encouraging students to do if they feel they are in similar situations.
