Power Outages Plague Red River Valley

Major power disruptions hitting the area.

Two-thirds of East Grand Forks lost power around 3 o’clock while Xcel worked on a transmission line.

Xcel crews responded to a light pole on fire in Fargo near the Cass County Courthouse.

Nearly 4-thousand people lost power.

Crews spent the afternoon working to fix the damage at 9th street and 2nd avenue South.

Another outage was reported around 3 o’clock in south Fargo.

600 customers of Cass County Electric were affected.

The cause is not known.
