Autopsy Shows UND Student Died From Drug Overdose

An autopsy on 22–year–old UND Student Alex Davis shows the cause of death as an overdose from Fentanyl.

The UND student was found by his friend and a roommate in early April in his home near the campus and pronounced dead on the way to Altru Hospital.

Police have been warning about the dangers of fentanyl following several deaths and overdoses in recent months. It’s not known where Davis got the fentanyl.

A half-dozen people are already facing federal charges in the earlier overdose cases.

The drugs killed 18-year old Bailey Henke of Grand Forks in January and 19-year old Evan Poitra of Grand Forks last July.
