Sletten Takes Plea Deal in Deadly Distracted Driving Case

A Hatton woman accused of causing a deadly crash on I-29 last May has pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

Abby  Sletten was given a deferred sentence of 360 days of unsupervised probation for aggravated reckless driving, a misdemeanor.

She had been charged with negligent homicide.

Authorities say Sletten was texting and using Facebook when she rear-ended an SUV at 85 miles per hour, killing 89 year old Phyllis Gordon of Ada.
