CHI St. Francis Health in Breckenridge Standing Against Child Abuse

A flurry of pinwheels are greeting visitors to CHI St. Francis Health in Breckenridge.

There are 132 pinwheels at the entrance to the hospital, one for every child born there in 2015.

The decorations are designed to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Government statistics say over 1,500 children died from abuse and neglect in 2013.

Child Abuse Prevention Month is designed to share strategies and activities to help prevent abuse and neglect.
