Moorhead Fire Chief Pushes For Underpasses

Moorhead’s fire chief is pushing for two underpasses to be built in the city to help with emergency response times.

Rich Duysen says emergency response time is being slowed down by the increase in trains.

A new study says that for up to six hours every day railroad crossings downtown are not passable for emergency crews.

Duysen says that trains cause almost 100 blockages in the city each day.

The report focuses on the need for an underpass on 21st Street and 11th Street.
