The Fargo chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa holds its seventh annual “Preemie” Baby Shower at Sanford Children’s Hospital.
The national teacher’s professional organization visited preemie babies born and hospitalized in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
The event is a tribute to the NICU staff that cares for and nurtures the premature babies and their families.
NICU personnel, doctors and nurses were the guests of honor along with the parents of the preemie babies.
Pat Pobst says, “We really do support our community. We support our families. We support each other in the educational process.”
Outfits for preemies, newborns and up to 6-months were donated and wrapped by ADK members and area education personnel.
Gift bags were opened and the outfits inside were clipped with special gift tags reading, “Congratulations parents on their little miracles” and “my heart belongs to you.”
They were later placed in baby bassinets encouraging the premature babies to grow and wear regular baby clothing.
The ADK member adds, “We enjoy just letting people know that even when those babies start off that they eventually will be in our educational system and we care about that.”
Outfits were given to the 25 preemie babies currently in the NICU and the remainder will be given to baby born later in the year.
