NDSU Science Students Help Bring Science to the Community

NDSU students show how science affects ourĀ lives.
Graduate students at the university led interactive activities to local high school students and the community.
Experiments include taking genetic material from strawberries by household materials and tracking infectious diseases to i-d the source.
The Avenues of Scientific Discovery event was to also explore potential careers.
Breanne Steffan, Event Director: “By something like this we can introduce high school students, and undergrads to areas like animal science or microbiology that aren’t traditionally thought of as an they can go into.”
More than 150 students from local high schools participated in the event.
