FEMA Issues Discussed In Fargo
A FEMA administrator makes his way to Fargo to talk about flood control alongside state and city leaders.
Senator Hoeven organized the meeting to talk about flood maps. He is working to ensure that FEMA’s flood maps reflect Fargo’s permanent flood control project and its protection of homes.
Representative Kevin Cramer also took part in the conversation. He says that although the Valley didn’t experience flooding issues this year, planning for the future can’t stop.
“It might seem sort of ironic on a day on April 1st when there’s not only not a flood there’s not even snow and we could certainly use some moisture. But let’s face it. The leadership of Fargo has been working on this and other issues related for a very long time so we know the record we know the reality,” Cramer says.
Congressional leaders are still pushing FEMA for a basement exception in the National Flood Insurance Program.
