Grand Forks County Emergency Management Pleads with Public over Burn Ban

Another reminder for people in Grand Forks County that a burn ban remains in effect.

The Director of Emergency Management for the city and county says several grass fires were reported on Friday.

They required significant response assets to contain and extinguish.

Since the burn ban went into effect on April 5th, there have been 9 grass fires in the county.

The director says that even with this weekend’s rain, it’s likely not enough to alleviate the dangerous fire conditions.
