Deadly Crash in West Fargo

A woman is dead after an accident on a slick Main Avenue in West Fargo.

Authorities say 47 year old Barampama Eda died at the scene. 53 year old Rwasa Elias was taken to Essentia with unknown injuries. They were both from West Fargo.

Police say Elias and Eda were heading east on Main Avenue and swerving in and out of traffic around 7:30 this morning when Elias lost control.

Their SUV crossed the median and into the path of two oncoming vehicles.

Police say the warmer weather produced frost on the road and that could be a factor in the crash.

West Fargo Chief Michael Reitan said, “That causes the road surfaces to become extremely slippery, so any time you encounter winter driving we need to slow down and watch for those changing conditions.”

People in the other cars were not seriously hurt and refused medical treatment.
