MSUM Celebrates Its International Students
MSUM attracts students from not only across the country, but also the world, and tonight they’re celebrating.
Four hundred students who come from 66 different countries call MSUM their home away home.
Sharing their culture is an important part to honoring their homeland and not getting homesick.
Some of the students haven’t been home in five to seven years.
“When they come here they either really get involved, find friends and make it their new home and some still have strong ties with back home I think if you asked each and every one of them they would all come back with a different answer,” says Director of International Services, Janet Hohenstein.
Hohenstein says a big reason MSUM is popular for international students is the size of the community.
She says the reasonable tuition is also a big draw.
This is the 53rd annual celebration.
