Hector International Airport Helps Fargo’s Economy in More Ways Than One
Hector International Airport has a huge impact on the local economy according to a recent study by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.
The airport supports more than 3,000 jobs, pays out nearly $150 million in annual salaries and is responsible for almost $400 million in annual input.
With more than 244,000 people coming through Hector International each year, the airport also makes Fargo an appealing location for large corporations.
“So any of the businesses that are here if you take Microsoft or fiat, which owns the case plant here in Fargo, John Deer which has the electronics solutions plant here all of them are very dependent upon quick and convenient access air service for their business,” says Executive Director Shawn Dobberstein.
Dobberstein says without the presence of the airport its unlikely Fargo would be able to grow as fast as it currently is.
