MATBUS Offers Free Fare and Extended Hours For Street Fair

With the Downtown Street Fair also going on this week, MATBUS is making it even easier to enjoy the festivities.

The public transportation system is offering half fare prices for the week.

On Saturday, you can even ride the bus for free.

You can also park at Moorhead Center Mall and take the bus directly downtown.

The goal is to get cars off the streets, and encourage more people to attend the street fair.

“What we’re trying to do is mitigate the traffic flow in the downtown area because of all the construction and congestion down there so it works out great,” says Fargo Transit Director, Julie Bommelman.
 
Riders shouldn’t have to wait more than five minutes to catch a bus.

There will also be extended hours for the fair.

Extended hours include: July 14 and 15: 7:00am – 9:30 pm

July 16: 10:00am – 5:30 pm
