Discover Minnesota: Fergus Falls

Fergus Falls Is A City With A Surprisingly Robust Arts Scene

Discover Minnesota takes you to a city that prides itself on its vibrant art scene.

Fergus Falls is of course known for the famed Kirkbride building, the 130-year-old former state hospital for people with developmental disabilities.
The city also boasts three breweries, a stretch of the four-thousand mile North Country Trail, and Otto, the world’s biggest Otter.
But you might now know about the arts scene in the city, including a new concert series started during the pandemic set against the backdrop of the Kirkbride.

Jean Bowman with Visit Fergus Falls says, “People come to a small community and they don’t expect to see all the fabulous art galleries, live performing theater, music, touring concerts.”

Our two week virtual road trip around the region wraps up Friday on the morning show with visits to Otter Tail County ahead of the Governor’s Fishing Opener, and Aberdeen, South Dakota.
