A Fargo woman returns home from our nation’s capital after being selected to volunteer for the ONE campaign.
The ONE campaign is a non-profit organization fighting global poverty.
Cathy Schwinden of Fargo, joined volunteers from every state in Washington D.C. for the group’s four-day advocacy training program.
Volunteers campaigned this past Tuesday on International Women’s Day.
They focused on women in poverty on Capitol Hill.
“I share a very common motivation with the people who are there and that is, we want to make a difference in the world and we want to make the world a better place,” said Schwinden.
Schwinden was one of 200 volunteers selected for the summit.
This is Schwinden’s fifth trip for the summit.
