North Dakota First Lady Pays “RED” Visit at Washington Elementary

North Dakota’s first lady Betsy Dalrymple was out revisiting her love of the classroom by reading to local elementary kids.

As a former Fargo Public Schools elementary teacher, Betsy says one of the things she enjoys most as First Lady is reading to kids.

She encourages the importance of reading to young children by something she calls RED, which stands for Read Every Day.

“I try to get to a school once a week. Some weeks I do more, and some weeks I do less, but it’s really been fun traveling around the state and seeing all the great educators around North Dakota,” said Dalrymple.

The reading portion of the visit ended with students having a chance to read a book to the First Lady.
