Musicians Toot Their Own Horn at Raging Red Band Festival
Kids get to toot their own horn, performing for music experts at NDSU.
The Raging Red Band Festival brings 32 school bands together from around the region.
Each band performs for a panel of three college music instructors.
After the performance, kids get a personalized clinic from one of the instructors.
The goal is to help these young musicians improve, no matter what skill level they’re at.
“We want to see the bands become better bands,” says Dr. Warren Olfert, Director of Bands at NDSU. “So we want to provide the necessary kinds of feedback to them that will help them understand the things that are involved and helping them become better at what they do.”
Bands will continue to play all day Wednesday at the Festival Concert Hall at NDSU.
Performances are open to the public.
