Getting Looney at the Rourke

One local artist unveils years of hard work in a new exhibit called “Escape to the Looney Bin” at the Rourke Art Museum.

The exhibit features 2-d and 3-d pieces.

Many of the pieces focus on social and economic issues.

Climate change is just one of the conflicts the artist touches on.

Most of the pieces were done three or four years ago.

Some even span back eight years.

“It’s really surreal, I can’t really believe it’s happening to be perfectly honest. It’s really amazing to see all of this work in a room together,” said artist Mackenzie Kouba.

Kouba is from the F-M area and graduated from NDSU with a BFA.

The exhibit will be at the museum through April 17th.
