A Gamer’s Paradise In Fargo
The downtown prairie den transforms into a gamer’s paradise for the day.
Video game enthusiasts joined together for the second ever Games on the Plains.
The big gaming party includes tournaments throughout the day from Smash brothers to Super Mario.
A few local gamers came up with the idea after missing their college gaming days.
“Bring your computers to someone’s house, play some games, have some fun and after college that sort of fell by the way side. We stopped doing that and we thought wouldn’t it be fun if we rent out the prairie den and one of these good old parties again,” says Games On The Plains Co-organizer Evan Balko.
Participants are free to bring their own computers and monitors.
Game consoles are also provided. Organizers hope to make it a semi-annual event.
They say the next gaming day will be this coming fall.
