Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Over 200 eighth grade girls from schools around the area had the chance to test drive a career in engineering.

As a part of national “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day,” NDSU and area companies hosted a series of activities showing girls how pursuing a career in engineering can be fun.

The event is a part of the college’s outreach, and education program aimed to encourage students to consider STEM career fields.

“We’re having the best and the brightest girls come here, express an interest, inspire them, and hopefully we can get them to come do out 4-year degree. And also work with one of the companies that’s sponsoring the event today,” said Holly Erickson of NDSU College of Engineering.

This is the second year the college has hosted the event.
