Judge Rules Prince’s Living Siblings Heirs to $200 Million Estate

The judge determined Prince died without having a will and named them heirs to his estimated $200 million dollar fortune

CHANHASSEN, Minn. — A judge has made a ruling on the estate of Prince and has found it in favor for his living siblings.

Prince’s sister and five half-siblings staked a claim on the late singer’s estate after he died from an opioid overdose in 2016.

The judge determined Prince died without having a will and named them heirs to his estimated $200 million fortune.

Prince’s half-sister, Sharon Nelson, said her brother is looking out for them, even in his death.

“I have a beautiful picture of Prince so I looked at the picture this morning and I said, ‘Thank you so much, Prince. We are finally real brothers and sisters,” she said. “I know he’s my brother but we had to prove it to the world pretty much that he really was my brother.”

The judge ruled the singer’s assets won’t be distributed without a formal court order and will not release anything that may be in dispute over pending lawsuits or inquiries.
