Love is in the Air! Celebrating Valentine’s Day in the Metro

Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year devoted to saying I love you.

As Gary searches for the perfect bouquet, he wants to make sure it’s special.

Gary and his wife are celebrating their 12th Valentine’s together and he may have had a little help on finding a thoughtful gift.

“She’s been hinting at flowers all week,” says Gary Ussery of West Fargo.

But flowers aren’t the only way to a woman’s heart. Let’s face it, it’s also through her stomach.

“Starts with C, chocolate. Chocolate is it. Whether it’s a nice truffle, or a chocolate covered strawberry or maybe a nice assorted box of chocolates, anything that starts with the word chocolate,” says owner of Sweet Dreams Confections Owner, Lee Paseka.

All things chocolate is the perfect Valentine’s Day for Chris and Bethany. A holiday they hold near and dear to their hearts.

“That was the last holiday we really got to spend together because then I was gone for about eight months,” says Chris Gibson of Grand Forks.

Next March, Chris will again be serving with his unit, but this time, overseas.

“Got out, came back in October now so spending as much time as we can together before all that comes apart,” says Gibson.

“But if you’re not a chocoholic, Gigi’s Cupcakes is making it easy for you with a personalized sugar cookie.”

“We did some prom-posal cupcakes today because I know that’s coming up but it was obviously for a Valentine’s Day surprise, which was really sweet,” says Gigi’s Bakery Cake Decorator, Michele Eklund.

“It’s a chance to spoil her without having to look for a reason because it’s Valentine’s Day,” says Ussery.

From chocolate to flowers to personalized cupcakes, people across the FM area are proving there might be a little romantic in all of us…after all.
