People in north Fargo are still trying to process the tragedy.
KVRR’s Britany Ford was out talking to neighbors in the area, and joins from the Fargo police department. Brittany?
Alison and TJ people in the area have been laying flowers here at the Fargo police department all day in honor of officer Moszer.
Earlier I was out talking to neighbors in north Fargo as they recover from the violent night.
“There were lots of gun shots going off, it was like constant, it was very scary,” said Lauren Lindhurst of North Fargo.
People in North Fargo have returned home, but their feelings are still displaced.
Lauren Lindhurst has lived in north Fargo for six years; she says the lockdown put her family on high alert.
“We took the kids, and put them in a room with no windows. We put them in or hallway, and he was listening trying to figure out what was going on,” said Lauren.
She says all she could think of was the safety of her kids.
“I fear for my kids it was scary, and really affected her more than my infant, but it’s something I’ve never experienced in Fargo since I’ve been here,” said Lauren.
Christopher Buttke lives just a few houses down from the suspect’s house.
“We couldn’t believe it, and all the sudden we start seeing all the law enforcement from local to sheriffs from all around then swat coming in it was pretty overwhelming, and scary,” said Christopher Buttke of North Fargo.
Christopher is originally from Hawley, Minnesota, which is the hometown of Officer Moszer’s wife.
“Coming from a small town, and knowing who they are it really hits home, it’s not necessarily what you want to hear on a night like that,” said Christopher.
“It’s really sad and really scary especially right down the street,” said Michelle Schoenack of North Fargo.
Michelle Schoenack says this is not the Fargo that she’s always known.
“Growing up here you don’t really hear about these kinds of things happening; I know the area is growing a lot bigger but this is just a wake up call,” said Michelle.
People in North Fargo say moving forward fully processing what happened is going to take time.
