Black Lives Matter Demands Firing of St. Paul Officer

The group Black Lives Matter says it will disrupt the Red Bull Crashed Ice event in St. Paul if a police officer isn’t fired.

Jeffrey Rothecker is on leave while the department investigates his actions.

He apologized last month for a post he made on Facebook urging drivers to run over protesters who rallied against the police killings of two black men in the Twin Cities last year.

In a separate case, the Minnesota chapter of the ACLU and the Minneapolis NAACP plan to ask a judge to force authorities to release video footage of the fatal shooting of Jamar Clark.

He was shot by a Minneapolis police officer in November during what authorities said was a struggle.
