Super Students Save the 100th Day of School!

Students gear up in superhero costumes to celebrate 100 days of school.

First graders at Ed Clapp Elementary got a surprise when a box full of superhero attire arrived.

Students were given the task to help Zero the Hero battle evil Dr. Double Digit, who is trying to stop students from using three-digit numbers.

Throughout the day, these young learners completed tasks to lead them to save the 100th day of school.

“Anything you can get them excited about learning. Who wouldn’t want to be a superhero and learn how to add to 100 or count to 100? Who wouldn’t want to be a superhero while writing about what they would do as a superhero? It just makes everything a lot more fun and they don’t even know that they’re learning,” says Ed Clapp Elementary teacher Tiffany Johnson.

Other students across the district also celebrated the milestone with dress-up themes and classroom activities focusing on the number 100.
