Third Person Dies from Injuries at Alcester Care and Rehab Crash
Authorities say the 81-year-old driver unintentionally hit the gas and not the brakes when she pulled into the driveway

ALCESTER, SD — A third person has died from injuries suffered when a woman drove her car into a crowd of people at Alcester Care and Rehab Center.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says the latest victim is 95-year-old Pearl “Tex” Sowell, who lived at the center.
Sowell was one of seven people hit outside the building Monday.
Authorities say the 81-year-old driver unintentionally hit the gas and not the brakes when she pulled into the driveway.
The driver and another person injured in the crash remain hospitalized.
The others have been released.
