Former MSUM Professor Files Age Discrimination Lawsuit Against School
A former MSUM professor says the university discriminated against her because of her age.
Dr. Claudia Murphy filed a lawsuit against the university in St. Paul.
She claims the criteria set for a new professorship in the Women’s and Gender Studies program excluded her based on her age.
Dr. Murphy is 63.
An MSUM spokesperson says the university does not comment on the specific aspects of pending litigation.
But says the university has high standards for all our staff members and sets hiring qualifications that reflect those expectations.
