Angler Identified in Suspected Fatal Carbon Monoxide Accident

Authorities have identified the man who died in an ice fishing house on Leech Lake.

He is 34-year-old Jared Johnson, of Akeley.

Johnson died and three others in the fish house were sickened by suspected carbon monoxide poisoning on Walker Bay Sunday afternoon.

One man was taken to a Twin Cities hospital, while the other two were treated at the scene.

Investigators say propane devices that were being used to heat the structure were not properly ventilated.
