HUBBARD COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR/FOX 9) — A man is in a Fargo hospital after being shot Sunday during the youth deer hunting season in Hubbard County, Minnesota.

The sheriff’s office says the 50-year-old man told a 10-year-old girl to unload the deer rifle while hunting in Helga Township.

While she was doing that, she squeezed the trigger, shooting the man in both buttocks.

He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bemidji before being airlifted to Fargo “due to the seriousness of his injuries,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The youth deer hunting season was held October 19th through 22nd.

The regular deer hunting season opens in November.
