Junkin’ Market Days gives small businesses a holiday boost
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – As we head into the holiday season, this is an important time for small business owners. That’s why events like Junkin’ Market Days are crucial, as they help these businesses connect with customers face to face.
“We have sold so much Christmas merchandise,” said Chanyce Dahl, owner of Rusty Barn Junque. “People think it’s too early, but people are buying their Christmas merchandise right now for home decor. And then later they’ll think about gift giving. So this is the best time.”
Especially with recent setbacks like the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation putting the squeeze on them. Having these opportunities to get in front of their customers adds an important human element.
“To have an event like this allows us to interact and mingle with people in our community,” said Dahl. “And we have so many repeat customers at Rusty Barn Junque. We just love to get out and see people and enjoy the day.”
But on the flip side, according to those who run Junkin Market Days, they had less vendors due to the impacts of inflation. Regardless of the circumstances, it is really all about giving these small businesses a much needed boost heading into the holiday stretch.
“This is our fifth event in Fargo and we as a company we hold about 30 pop-up markets throughout the year,” said This is great to be able to connect the small business owners with the local community. And the local community in Fargo is wonderful about supporting small business.”
The next time Junkin’ Market Days will be in North Dakota will be in late February in Grand Forks. For more information, click here.
