Gf Election 111323

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — People in Grand Forks will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to vote in a special election.

The vote is to extend the three-quarter percent sales tax beyond 2029.

The money would be used to maintain Alerus Center and for the construction of an indoor turf, aquatics and court facility.

The center would cost about $100 million.

It’ll be named Altru Sports Complex after a very generous $10 million commitment from Altru Health System.

The complex would be supported through private funding and the sales tax extension and located south of the Alerus Center.

Voting will take place at Alerus Center from 7-7 tomorrow and we’ll bring you coverage of the vote and results Tuesday night on KVRR Local News and online.
