Traffic Diverted After Driver Hits Power Pole, Knocks Down Power Lines

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) – Authorities say a driver likely fell asleep behind the wheel before a crash in Douglas County, Minnesota.

That driver, 37-year-old Shane Hoemberg of Sauk Centre, called 911 after the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office says he was driving on County Road 82 Southeast when he crossed over into the oncoming lane, went into a ditch and hit a power pole.
An ambulance took him to a hospital in Alomere.
The crash knocked down power lines onto the road.
Traffic was diverted until the power company could safely remove the lines.
