Supporters of Marsy’s Law Now Collecting Signatures
Supporters of a proposed constitutional amendment to protect crime victims in North Dakota can begin collecting signatures.
The Secretary of State has approved the petitions for circulation.
Supporters need 27,000 signatures to get it on the ballot in June or November.
Kathleen Wrigley, wife of the Lt. Governor, is behind the proposal based on “Marsy’s Law,” which California voters approved in 2008 after the murder of a college student.
It would ensure crime victims are protected and have information about court proceedings and parole hearings.
Wrigley lost her brother in the line of duty.
