BELTRAMI COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — An update to a story that we first brought you last night.

Beltrami County Deputies and Kelliher firefighters rescued 35 people stranded on Upper Red Lake.

Authorities say a large ice chunk broke from the shore before 5 p.m. Sunday.

Last night, Beltrami County authorities said about 40 to 50 people were on the ice.

Because of the distance, rescuers used an airboat to get to the people.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities say unseasonably warm weather combined with recent rain has resulted in inconsistent ice conditions.
