Wayne Salter Tapped As N.D. Health and Human Services Commissioner

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota Health and Human Services has a new leader, and he comes from Texas.
Gov. Doug Burgum has appointed Wayne Salter to lead the state’s largest agency.
Salter is a former Texas Health and Human Services executive.
He has more than 25 years of experience and leadership in human service programs, strategic planning and process improvement.
He will begin his role as commissioner on January 22, replacing interim commissioner Sara Stolt.
She will remain as deputy commissioner.
The agency has a staff of around 2,500 people and a budget of over $5.7 billion.
