NDSU hosts robotics competition for middle and high school students

FARGO, N.D., (KVRR)- NDSU hosted a robotics competition for students across the region. The First Tech Challenge Eastern Dakota Qualifier was hosted at the university.

This challenge saw students from across the region grade 7 through 12 compete in building and programming robots to do tasks like pull ups, launching a paper airplane, and stacking blocks.

This challenge not only helps with learning robotics, it also helps the students develop real life skills needed for the future. Angela Gross, Outreach Coordinator for NDSU College of Engineering, said, “It’s really, really good for the kids.”

Gross also said, “It gives them lots of confidence, in not only their skill level, but being able to present in front of other people and put themselves out there.”

The winners of this challenge go on to compete in the state tournament in Bismarck next month.
