Joe Mauer Is Headed to the Hall of Fame
Twins Great Joe Mauer is a First Ballot Hall of Famer
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (KVRR) – Joe Mauer is heading to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The St. Paul native and Cretin High School graduate grew up rooting for the Twins and spent all 15 years of his Major League Baseball career with the organization.
While making the hall of fame on the first ballot is one of the tallest tasks in all of sports, the Minnesota native’s accomplishments speak for themself. Mauer was a six time All Star. He was the American League MVP in 2009.
Mauer also led the majors in batting three times and is the only American League catcher to ever win a batting title. Throughout his career he also won five Silver Sluggers and three Gold Gloves.
