Bemidji Man Charged With DUI After Hitting Traill County Sheriff’s Patrol Car on I-29

TRAILL CO., N.D. (KVRR) — A Bemidji man faces charges including DUI after hitting a Traill County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle on I-29, about two miles south of Buxton, North Dakota.
The crash happened Sunday night around 7:45.
Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Body Cota failed to take proper precautions as he approached an emergency scene.
Emergency lights were activated and traffic cones were being used to control traffic.
Cota crashed into the patrol vehicle and suffered minor injuries.
No responders were injured.
Cota was charged with DUI, unlawful possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
The initial incident had been a one-vehicle rollover crash, in which there were no injuries.
