Crookston Man Reaches Plea Deal In Stabbing of his Mother

CROOKSTON, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — A Crookston man reaches a plea deal in the stabbing of his mother last March.
37-year-old Kevin Corona entered a guilty plea to second-degree attempted intentional murder in Polk County District Court.
Several other counts were dropped including attempted first-degree premeditated murder.
Corona says he was using meth when he stabbed and choked his mother.
Crookston police arrived to find them both covered in blood and a knife on the ground.
Corona could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Sentencing is set for February 15.
