Services Held for Unclaimed Air Force Veteran at Fargo National Cemetery
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — On a chilly morning, another unclaimed veteran is laid to rest at Fargo National Cemetery.
Richard Moldenhauer, a U.S. Air Force veteran, died on January 12 at the VA Hospital in Fargo.
He had no immediate, close family.
The 79-year-old was born in Brainerd, Minnesota and joined the Air Force in 1961.
He was buried with full honors and joins other veterans at the cemetery.
“You have all these folks come out to honor our departed be he unclaimed or even when the families are here. They really enjoy seeing it,” said Russ Stabler of the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard.
Around 30 people attended the service for the unclaimed veteran.
