NDSU student receives award from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – In June last year we told you about Jake Sundberg, an NDSU student who was getting a NASA scholarship.
Well that day is today, as he was presented the award by Joe Tanner, a retired astronaut.
Sundberg has been working with composite materials and 3-D printing which caught the attention of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The mechanical engineering student now can reach for the stars thanks to his research and the connections he will make with the ASF.
“That gives him access to a whole lot of help that normal students wouldn’t have. First of all, the first year he has a mentor that will guide him through the decisions he has to make in his future.” said Tanner.
Sundberg graduates in the spring and will begin working on his Master’s Degree.
