Dog rescued after jumping into Red River

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — A dog is safe after jumping into the Red River this afternoon.

Crews were called to the dam near River Oaks Park where a caller said a dog fell into the river and a man went in after it.

It was later clarified that the man never went into the water.

Moorhead Fire says members of their C-Shift crew rescued the dog.

Members of the Moorhead and Fargo Fire Departments, and officers with Moorhead Police, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene.
